UPDATE: The #SteinBaraka rally at U MD College Park today will be in the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union at 1 pm!
Jill Stein will be coming to the metropolitan Washington area and we will have a rally for her at the University of Maryland at College Park, Sunday, November 6 at 1pm.
In addition to Jill Stein the rally will include:
Vice Presidential Candidate Ajamu Baraka
Alli McCracken, Co-Director of CodePink
Dr. Margaret Flowers, the Green senatorial candidate for Maryland
Our promotional material says the rally will be held at the Nyumburu Amphitheatre but we have decided to move the event indoors. The event will now be held right next door at the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union building, a large ballroom that can seat a thousand people. Please begin to join us at 12:15 and we will have great music for you to listen to and then our program will begin at 1pm.
Don’t worry about the change in location, we will have people outside to help direct you to the right spot. And if you are walking from the free parking lots noted below, you will come to the Stamp building before you would even get to the Amphitheatre. No worries!
It’s free admission of course and there is plenty of free parking at lots a few minutes away from the Stamp Student Union building and the Grand Ballroom. The closest free lots are 1b and z on Alumni Avenue. The Stamp Student Union building is located at 3972 Campus Drive, College Park.
We encourage you to RSVP for this event as soon as possible to help us with planning the event and also as a show of support for Jill and to encourage others to come to the rally too.
Public Transportation: You can also get there by public transportation. By Metro, use the Green Line and get off at the College Park Station. Then take the free UMD shuttle bus #104 (available to non-students) to the Regents Drive Garage. It runs every 10 minutes on Sunday during the entire time of our event and it’s about a 10 minute trip on the bus. When you get off, ask anyone for directions to the Stamp (or you can say the Student Union building). Everyone knows where the Stamp is. It’s a 3-5 minute walk.
By Metro Bus: Use the WAMTA trip planner and put in your location and select the University of Maryland (Prince Georges) in the destination box. You can put in the date and time you want to leave for the university. The trip planner is located at:
The buses will drop you off at the Regents Drive Garage or one other location near the Stamp. When you get off, ask anyone for directions to the Stamp (or you can say the Student Union building). Everyone knows where the Stamp is. It’s a 3-5 minute walk from either stop.
