Join us for a March For Environmental Justice hosted by the Green Party of New Jersey & sponsored the Socialist Alternative and Socialist Party of New Jersey!
The purpose of this march is to spread awareness about environmental issues, and get people politically involved. At the march you will be able to meet local environmental and social justice organizations that you can learn about and get involved with.
We will be meeting at the Red Bank Train Station on West St. and will be marching to Riverside Gardens Park. At Riverside we will gather to learn about environmental and political issues, and discuss ways we can get involved to help fix these problems. We will also look at how our current political environment needs to adapt to bring change to our communities.
If your organization would like to endorse this march please contact Veronica at VMGranite@gmail.com. Endorsing this event means that your organization understands we need to fight for environmental and social justice, and wants to join the march! By endorsing the march your organization will have the opportunity to speak, and get others involved in your organization.
Speeches will be reviewed and approved before the march. The exact speaker agenda details will be released before the event.
[Contact Veronica Granite if you would like to volunteer.]
ROUTE MONITORS: We need several people that will stand at the corners of the route to keep the march flowing, and keep people from going off course. Monitors are also encouraged to keep morale up with chants.
CHANT-ERS: During the march we need people that will chant, and get others chanting about environmental justice, social justice, and the Green Party.
WALKING SECRETARIES: At the end of the march when we are gathered at Riverside, we will need people that can carry clipboards with voter registration forms (and perhaps petitions), and help people fill out these forms. Talking and interacting with people is key here!
PHOTOGRAPHER: People that can take pictures and videos during the march and the speeches at the park.
