The 2016 Elections - Humanity's Future in Troubled Times

What Direction for Antiwar and Social Justice Activists in the 2016 elections?

 

With the end of the Bernie Sanders campaign, many activists are trying to figure out who to support in the presidential elections.  Many believe that Hillary Clinton, a candidate who can be elected, is the only way to vote, given the threat of a Trump victory, while others believe that they must vote for a candidate who better expresses their own political views. Please join us for this important discussion.

Joe Seeman: Volunteer organizer with the Working Families Party, Citizen Action of NY, MoveOn.org, and the Bernie Sanders network of the Capital Region.  Seeman is a member of the WFP NY state committee.  Seeman is a support of Hillary Clinton.

 

Peter LaVenia: Co-chair, New York State Green Party.  LaVenia is a former candidate of for the Green Party.  LaVenia is a supporter of Jill Stein. LaVenia has a PhD in Political Science from the University at Albany, SUNY, he has worked for citizen advocate Ralph Nader, and is currently the campaign manager for Matt Funiciello’s NY-21 Congressional run

 

Jeff Mackler: National Secretary, Socialist Action and Socialist Action's candidate for President in 2016. Mackler is the director of the Mobilization to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal in Northern California, the Administrative Committee of the United National Antiwar Coalition, and Founder/Steering Committee member, Northern California Climate Mobilization. He is the author of 20 books and pamphlets.

 

Each panelist will make a presentation followed by lots of time for discussion from the audience.
