Toxic Tour of the proposed Liquid Natural Gas facility in Providence, RI

Presumptive Green Party presidential nominee Dr. Jill Stein will join No LNG in PVD activists for a toxic tour of the Port of Providence and demonstration against National Grid’s proposed Fields Point LNG liquefaction facility
NoLNGinPVD is a coalition of area residents, Environmental Justice League of RI, The FANG Collective and other local environmental and community groups working to halt National Grid’s proposed $180 million dollar Fields Point LNG liquefaction facility in South Providence, an environmental racism concern. 
Dr. Jill Stein holds the current record for most votes ever received by a woman candidate for President of the United States in the general election. She is a mother, an organizer, physician, and pioneering environmental-health advocate. Dr. Stein has led initiatives to fight environmental racism and injustice, to promote healthy communities, to strengthen local green economies and to revitalize democracy. She has had many victories in campaign finance reform, racially-just redistricting, green jobs, and the cleanup of incinerators, coal plants, and toxic threats. She was a principal organizer for the Global Climate Convergence for People, Planet and Peace over Profit.
Tour of existing toxic and polluting infrastructure in South Providence with regards to the effect and dangers of National Grid’s planned expansion at Fields Point followed by a demonstration and public address by affiliated groups and Dr. Stein.
Meet at the corner of Allens Ave. and Ernest St. outside of Providence Public Works Dept.
