VOLUNTEER ORGANIZING

State Volunteer Coordinator

Location: State Volunteer Coordinators are needed in every state.
Description: The Jill Stein for President campaign is working to activate a large volunteer base, using a decentralized “viral organizing” model that closely integrates on-the-ground organizing with online technology and social media to rapidly mobilize and grow our volunteer base. To accomplish this, we need committed, responsible and organized volunteers to serve as State Volunteer Coordinators in every state. State Volunteer Coordinators will be responsible for leading volunteer organizing efforts in their state and serving as a liaison between local organizers and the national campaign.

How to apply: Send a statement of interest to Volunteer Coordinator Jonathan Fluck at jonathanf@jill2016.com with a subject line including the words “State Coordinator application” as well as your name and your state. Please answer the following questions in 500 words or less, and include your contact information (phone, email, address) and at least 2 references who can attest to your organizing abilities:

  1. Why do you want to volunteer for the Jill Stein campaign?
  2. What is your experience with the Green Party and political organizing in general?
  3. What campaigns have you been involved in that succeeded in their goals, and how?
  4. Describe your communication and organizational skills.
  5. What connections do you have with progressive activists in your state?
  6. What is your proficiency with technology, especially Google Groups, Facebook, and Nationbuilder (or similar databases)?
  7. Are you willing to commit 15+ hours/week to the campaign?
  8. Are you willing to reach out and respond to people without undue delay, including odd hours and weekends?

BALLOT ACCESS

Ballot Access Coordinator

Location: Ballot Access Coordinators are needed in SD, ND, and WY.
Description: The Jill Stein campaign is working with the Green Party to ensure that the Green Party presidential ticket is on the ballot across the nation. In many states we must mount a petitioning effort to collect thousands of signatures from voters. We need volunteers for petitioning and we need volunteers to help coordinate petitioners. This position could involve working within your own town or city to coordinate teams who are on the street collecting signatures. Or it could involve accepting completed petitions and making a careful count of the total signatures in hand. In most cases you would be working with a state Green Party and helping bring resources from the Jill Stein campaign to the effort.

How to apply: Send a statement of interest, including any relevant prior experience to Ballot Access Coordinator Rick Lass at Rick [at] Jill2016 [dot] com
